I imagine that you like to believe that you occupy a moral high ground.  The most fundamental cause of the current economic crisis was greed (not lack of morality).  This greed started with individuals believing that they could get rich quickly by purchasing real estate that they could not afford then sell it a short while later for a massive profit.  There was also greed in businesses that lended to these people.  

You are not alone in your fantasy about occupying a moral high ground.  In general &quot;progressives&quot; that pushed for lax rules to allow people incapable of sustaining payments were at the heart of the issue.

Do you care to discuss emotional constraints now?
